Introducing the Challenge: Capturing and Executing Design Vision Affordably

Blue Suede Hospitality Group engaged Ascension Associates to convert their newest property in Miami into the Daydrift Hotel. With an allocated budget and an imminent opening date, they needed to capture a fresh brand vision while preserving existing design where possible.

Ascension Associates was tasked with the following to execute on the Daydrift vision:

  • Achieving a distinctive boutique identity without a full gut renovation.
  • Rapidly and precisely interpreting the designer’s concept, integrating it with existing finishes.
  • Operating within limited CAPEX to control costs.
  • Meet a firm launch date with zero margin for misalignment or delay.

Finding a Solution: Integrated Design and Execution

To bridge the gap between vision and delivery, Ascension Associates embedded a designer who could collaborate at every stage. This ensured the client’s concepts were translated into actionable plans without veering off schedule or budget. Preemptively resolving design challenges allowed Ascension Associates to minimize risks and keep the project on track.

Design Package Development: Ascension Associates partnered with an expert designer to assemble a comprehensive design package, detailing FF&E, art and decor selections, fixtures, and finishes for guest rooms and common areas.

Vendor sourcing and coordination: Leveraging a vetted network, our selected designer sourced custom curtains, desk refinishing, bespoke furniture, and decor. Ascension Associates managed procurement and logistics with our trusted partners to ensure seamless delivery.

Collaborative Budget Alignment: Real-time refinement of selections and budgets guaranteed the vision remained intact while staying on financial targets.

Measurable Impact: Elevating Guest Experience

  • All in-room enhancements, such as new linens, branded shower soap dispensers, upgraded coffee and tea setups, and seating were selected and delivered on schedule.
  • Custom curtains and desk refinishing restored details that often show age.
  • In the lobby and pool deck, bespoke furniture and decor transformed closed-off spaces into inviting guest retreats.

The Daydrift hotel opened on its target date with design elements that resonated with guests and reinforced the new brand identity.

“Ascension Associates is fortunate to have a great network of designers to tap for projects ranging from designing a brand identity to completing a large CAPEX refresh. The Daydrift project was a perfect encapsulation of what we and our designers can do when the client’s vision is realized.”

Interior design for smaller CAPEX projects doesn’t have to be complicated, or involve a specialty design firm.

For projects requiring the same personal touch and unique design, Ascension Associates is adept at working hand in hand with your designer to execute their vision, or finding a designer for you to bring the project to life.
